House Of Night

So it has been a while since I have checked in.... but I have been consumed by my favorite book series, to the point where I haven't been online very often. This series is the House of Night by the mother and daughter duo P.C. and Kristin Cast. This series takes a whole new take on the vampyre genre. In this series the only way they become a vampyre is to be chosen by the Goddess, Nyx. And in this world the most special fledgling vampyre, Zoey, has to take on a Queen bent on taking over the world, all while battling boyfriend issues and every thing else a 16 year old could possibly deal with.

Even though I am a 28 year old woman I read this series and love it. It makes me forget that I am 28 and I feel what is going on with Zoey's life. I cry with her, yell with her, and feel lost with her. She reminds me of the girl I used to be and the strength I wish I had. When my 9 year old daughter and my 6 year old niece gets  in middle school I will get them to read this series. I think that it will empower anyone that reads it.

This series is so easy to read. Within a few hours I will have read the entire book and I am antsy for the next installment. I encourage EVERY one to read this series!!!!!!

Favorite Series

Hello again. So, I have been asked several times my favorite book series. It is very difficult for me to choose a favorite. It is almost like asking me to choose a favorite child. How do you choose a favorite? I love all of my different series. If I had to choose there would be three.....

My favorite adult sci-fi/fantasy series is Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series. It has vampires, werewolves (and lots of other were-creatures), gods and goddesses, and just about anything and everything you could possibly want in a series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning page after page waiting to see what is happening next.

My favorite young adult series is P.C. and Kristin Cast's House of Night series. It is a different take on vampires. People are chosen to be vampires and then have to go to a special high school for their new needs. Then while they are going through all of their changes, someone they trust is out to get them. This series keeps you wanting to see what is next.

My favorite historical romance series is Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series. This series is about a family going through getting married and family surprises and traumas to find the one person that they are meant to be with. This is a series that no one that read it wanted it to end, so she came out with a book filled with 2nd epilogues for each of the books.

I will go through each of these series one by one and go in more detail with them in the next few days.

Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld

So, this week I am re-reading Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series. I am on the Third in the series, Darkling. This is one of my favorite series. A series that I can read over and over again. I have read this series at least five times. This series is a series about three sisters that are half-human and half-Faerie. The first book, Witchling, is told from the oldest sister's point of view. The girls are living Earthside and demons are coming on Earth and threatening everything we all hold dear. The second book, Changling, is told from the middle sister's point of view. There are now more demons coming after the girls and their friends. The third book, Darkling, is told from the youngest sister's point of view. Her vampire sire is out for revenge. The fourth book, Dragon Wytch, is told again by the oldest sister's point of view. This series is full of romance, action, and fantasy. Anyone that enjoys a good short easy to follow read, that is full of action and romance needs to read this series. If you want to check out the author's website, it is at http://www.galenorn.com/.

A little about me....

Hello everyone. My name is Lynn Floyd. I am the one that a lot of my friends get their books from, or are asked for the opinion of books. So this was a natural extension of that. What books do I read? Well, I read Sci-fi/fantasy, historical romances.... I will pretty much read any book as long as it has romance in it. Starting tomorrow I will post about the books that I have read. ~Lynn
